The Law of the Harvest

I always think of the law of the harvest at this time of year.
When I see things like this...

I think of this:

The Parable of the Sower

The Gospel of Mark, chapter 4?

“And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.

“And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,

“Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:

“And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.

“And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:

“But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.

“And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.

“And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.

“And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.” (Mark 4:1–9.)

So perfect for this post.

Marshall and I passed Fall Harvest party at a daycare near our apartment and there were pumpkins everywhere on the playground. It was just beginning to get dark and they had strung many strings of orange lights all over the trees and they glowed so beautifully as we drove by and we were able to see the children in their costumes running around picking up pumpkins to take home. It made me wish for children but the moment was just so lovely.

Once again a beautiful post and one of my favourite parables. I wish they did Halloween over here. They do it, but not as well as they do in NOrth America! I miss seeing all the kiddies in their costumes and we never get any trick or treaters at all where we live. :-(

Hi Bon Bon,
It was good to hear from you, have missed you lately. Am glad you are having such fun tho.
So nice you are such good friends with your in-laws parents, what a great gift that is, as you said!
We got home from church and then took a nap cause we got up so early this morning to finish preparing for Sunday School. We were just so pooped yesterday.
Feeling a bit better today thankfully. Think I might go spend the day with Dee tomorrow.
Hope it works out!
So glad you got to see your daughter, son, in-laws and grandchildren. Now when do you leave for Italy?? Know you must be getting excited about seeing your other daughter and grandchildren there as well.
And how is the bathroom coming along??? We should have grouted half the shower bottom yesterday but we were too tired to care!! lol
Maybe this week!
Well, take care sweet girl,
Love and Blessings, Nellie
