Heart Warmer #12~The Grandkids!

Don't let anyone fool you into thinking that getting older does not have its own set of heart warming reward! For us one of the hugest is being grandparents to 10 adorable grandkids. Each one comes with their own unique and special gifts and each one could not be loved more by their Gramma and Grampa.

One of the things about being grandparents is that is is fun and easy. You only have two jobs, to love and support them and their parents. It is not complicated with the things that parents have to accomplish. The rest of it is just plain good and lots of fun. Of course you do worry about them and we have had our share of that, but it is all good. Our Father in Heaven has been very generous with His abundant blessings.

It is great to be able to just be another pair of arms for hugging, another person to listen, play with and to help them figure out the world they live in. Hopefully, we as their grandparents can bring whatever we have into their lives as enrichment and unconditional love.


When your grandchildren first call you "Gramma" or "Grampa" you think your heart will melt and when they throw their little arms around your neck and tell you they love you, you just know it will. And then the pictures they draw and color and paint start coming and you think you will need to move to a bigger house to keep them all. This is one of the first way they show you how much they love you and every gift is special. They themselves are God's greatest gifts to us at this time in our lives. Our joy is full.

We love it when we can talk with them on the phone and hear their enthusiasm for their little lives and the fun they are having in school and church and sports, and music, and with friends. We are so proud of each one of them and the special people they are becoming. I will say it is alarming how quickly they are growing up. The 3 oldest will be 10 this year and the 2 babies will be 2. And then there are five more in between! They truly are the Sunshine of our Lives!
